New Star Wars The Force Awakens Trailer

Posted on

The third trailer has been released for Star Wars The Force Awakens¬† and it’s making it hard to wait two months until it’s released. For those of you that know me, or have read my blog(s) over the years, then you know my love for everything Star Wars is enormous. My admiration for it extends into the personal since the original film is what literally changed my life when I saw it when I was 4. I never thought I would actually see the story go beyond Return Of The Jedi so this is a true event on every level. Now comes the hard part. Waiting until it comes out.

Update And Movie Trailers

Posted on

I know I haven’t posted in almost a month but things have been a little hectic. However, there will be an update video coming soon. I haven’t posted a Vague Ramblings video in awhile but it’s coming soon. I am coming up with ways to do them regularly. Ideally at least one a week if not more. Something I am super excited about are the movies coming out next year. I am behind in the movies this year (some I plan on seeing if they’re still playing within the next couple weeks) but next year there are a few I will see opening day. The main one for me, as is obvious if you know me or have been reading this blog, is for Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens. My Star Wars fandom knows no bounds and the fact that we’re seeing something that, to be honest, I […]

I have to admit that a lot of times when I see a trailer for an independent dramatic film it sort of looks like this to me.

Iron Man 3 Trailer

I admit I am not an avid comic book reader. So when a movie comes out that is based on a comic book I am approaching it fairly raw in not knowing more than just standard knowledge if any. On one hand the film has the potential to stand on its own because I’m not bringing prior knowledge or even expectations to it. On the other hand if it requires a lot of knowledge of the source material then I’m in the dark. Obviously with your more well known superheroes most of us know a lot of the general so Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, don’t have to develop as much as other films for me. But the lesser known ones (as far as specifics go not in name or character identity) I require some more information in the film itself. While I knew of the character of Iron Man I knew […]

The Second Django Unchained Trailer Is Out

Posted on

A new trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained‘ is released and my excitement only grows. The film definitely has that spaghetti western feel along with some Howard Hawkes. Moreso than John Ford I think. But knowing how much Tarantino loves ‘Rio Bravo‘ (as do I) this is not surprising. I won’t lie, the moment when the original ‘Django‘ song kicked in towards the end almost gave me goosebumps. Can’t wait for this!

Side By Side Trailer

A new documentary I really want to see is ‘Side By Side‘ about the filmmaking process between shooting on film and shooting in digital. I find the ongoing debate fascinating. I’ve never understood the animosity between the two as it’s a tool and how it’s utilized is what matters. However, I do love seeing directors talk about it and their opinions on the matter and the lineup of directors in this is just amazing ranging from Martin Scorsese, George Lucas, James Cameron, Christopher Nolan, David Lynch, to name but a few. I wish this was showing in Chicago but luckily it will be on Video On Demand as of August 22nd. I can’t wait!
