When There Is No More Room In Hell … I Go To The Mall

Posted on

This month seems to be all about my top three favorite films. It started with May 4th which has become national Star Wars Day (May The Fourth Be With You). In the middle of the month I saw for the first time a really amazing documentary on TV on the making of ‘The Godfather’. The month ends with my friends and I taking a trip to Pittsburgh to visit the Monroeville Mall. Also known to fans all over as the ‘Dawn Of The Dead’ mall. Granted it may just be a regular mall to most people (and it is) but to horror fans over the world it was the setting to arguably one of the greatest horror films (and in my opinion greatest films in general) ever made. I will be in half professional mode as I am packing up my photography gear so I can photograph the mall and […]

From Star Wars To Jedi The Making Of A Saga

Posted on

On the Blu-ray of the ‘Star Wars’ films that was released last year there was an extra disc that included some of the older documentaries which I love. I remember them as a kid. There was one made for each film of the original trilogy with C-3PO and R2-D2 hosting the first. Mark Hamill hosting the second. Carrie Fischer the third. However, there was one that was made right after ‘Return Of The Jedi’ that was about making all three of the films. While the information might seem redundant after the inclusion of the three which concentrate on each individual film there is still stuff in it that is not in the others. Plus the nostalgia reason alone is enough to hopefully warrant the inclusion of ‘From Star Wars To Jedi The Making Of A Saga‘ on a future release. It’s a fan favorite and one that many of us […]

Jaws Restored And Coming To Blu-ray

Posted on

I’m sure everyone knows by now that ‘Jaws‘ is being restored and finally getting released on Blu-ray on August 14th. One of my favorite films and one I have been waiting to come out on Blu-ray for a long time. The restoration they’re doing looks to be very intensive (video below) and I am really happy Steven Spielberg is as involved in it as he is. I can’t wait to finally have this on Blu-ray. Here is the Blu-ray trailer. Here is a really great video on the restoration.

Jaws Coming To Blu-ray In 2012

Posted on

I just read over at Blu-ray.com that one of my all time favorite movies ‘Jaws‘ is finally coming to Blu-ray on (tentatively) August 14th of next year. While I think coming out closer to the 4th of July is more fitting I am just happy it is finally coming out. And I think this goes well with my last post on Steven Spielberg. Now here’s hoping to get ‘Raiders Of The Lost Ark‘ on Blu-ray next year too …

Coming Soon To This Theatre

A few changes are underway. After ‘Dark Light’ got put on hold I admit it really got to me. It’s not easy to see a project you spent a year of your life on not progress and then make the decision to shut down production and regroup. In the time that I have been looking into options I decided to try a slightly different route with it. I am running through the possibility of it to see if it is indeed how I want to proceed with it. I can’t say what I am thinking just yet but I will announce it whichever way I decide to take the future of ‘Dark Light’. All I can say is the project is far from over. A few other projects are in the early works too. It is no secret I have been dying to do another horror film. And I have […]

Countdown To Star Wars Blu-rays 6

Here is a post I did back when I finished my film ‘Distortion’. It shows how deep the meaning of these films runs with me. It wasn’t just a movie but something that inspired, and indeed changed, a young boy forever. —- February 10, 2010 It took a lot longer than I expected but the day has come. The DVD of ‘Distortion’ has been mailed out to the Cannes Film Festival and to the LA Film Festival. Not really sure of my chances but it marks the end of one thing and the start of another. Unlike the Sundance submission the film is basically done. A few things I still need to tweak but the film these festivals are receiving is the film I made. The version I sent to Sundance was still rough and had some missing things. This version is what it is. While I am still working […]
