I’ve often written of my love of Star Wars. If you’ve known me for longer than 5 minutes then you know this about me. The original 1977 film changed my life. Star Wars is a very personal thing for me but I know no one really knows fully why so I figured it was time I said. When I was 3 going on 4 I saw Star Wars in the theatre and it was the first time I became fully aware of the moving image. I immediately became invested in what was happening on the screen. The profound images of a galaxy far, far away with characters and visuals unlike anything I could imagine. In those moments I fell in love with movies and with visual storytelling. Everything was different for me. I became much more interested when I watched other movies or even TV shows on television. The way […]
The third trailer has been released for Star Wars The Force Awakens and it’s making it hard to wait two months until it’s released. For those of you that know me, or have read my blog(s) over the years, then you know my love for everything Star Wars is enormous. My admiration for it extends into the personal since the original film is what literally changed my life when I saw it when I was 4. I never thought I would actually see the story go beyond Return Of The Jedi so this is a true event on every level. Now comes the hard part. Waiting until it comes out.
I know I am behind in updates but I had a lot of personal things that needed attention. And now I’m fighting off a cold but in the meantime … A NEW TRAILER FOR STAR WARS!!!
I know I haven’t posted in almost a month but things have been a little hectic. However, there will be an update video coming soon. I haven’t posted a Vague Ramblings video in awhile but it’s coming soon. I am coming up with ways to do them regularly. Ideally at least one a week if not more. Something I am super excited about are the movies coming out next year. I am behind in the movies this year (some I plan on seeing if they’re still playing within the next couple weeks) but next year there are a few I will see opening day. The main one for me, as is obvious if you know me or have been reading this blog, is for Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens. My Star Wars fandom knows no bounds and the fact that we’re seeing something that, to be honest, I […]
Today is what has become known as Star Wars Day since May 4th is close enough to “May the Force be with you”. As a life long Star Wars fan I, much like fans everywhere, take great pride in our love of the films. Star Wars was the film I saw when I was 3 going on 4 that literally changed my life. It sparked that interest in the moving image. It started my love of films and filmmaking. It has been, is, and forever will be, my favorite film. The series as a whole will always have special meaning for me both personally and professionally. So to fans everywhere around the world I say – May The 4th Be With You!
Merry Christmas everyone! I’m sorry for the lack of updates but I was having some posting problems. Several updates including news on the new short film coming soon. I’ll save those for its own post. A few quick things. I invested in a couple of new pieces of gear to get ready for both the short films and upcoming work. A couple new lenses including a new Sigma zoom lens (pictured above) and a very cool wide angle lens. While I’m still getting used to working with it I got a Glidecam to do steadicam shots. Adjusting it takes time because it needs to be calibrated perfectly for it to work correctly but boy do the shots look nice. I’m also moving more towards LED lights as they really work well for what I do. Not only for the low power consumption but the changing of color temperature. Truly amazing. […]
