Rear Window On The Big Screen

Happy New Year everyone! I’m sorry for the lack of posts lately but things have been busy. I’ll have a blog post about some of the projects coming up in 2012 but I want to share something I did towards the end of 2011 that I have wanted for a very long time. My favorite Alfred Hitchcock film is ‘Rear Window‘ and despite the fact that I have watched it numerous times over the years (including owning a digital copy that I recently watched on my iPad on a plane trip to California) I have never actually seen it on the big screen. I Am Talkin’ To You

For the third time in a year I had the awesome pleasure of seeing one of my all time favorite films on the big screen, Martin Scorsese’s ‘Taxi Driver’. I have seen the film many times but for its 20th anniversary I got the chance to see it on the big screen for the first time. That was also the first time I ever went to The Music Box Theatre which is my favorite theatre. That was back in 1996. In 2010 the Gene Siskel Theatre had a special showing of it. This showing happen to be on August 17, my birthday. What better way to spend my birthday? It was an old print full of scratches and tears and it was faded but it was amazing.
