Man Of Steel Score

Posted on

I recently saw ‘Man Of Steel‘ and thought it was great. When I noticed that Hans Zimmer was doing the music I was very excited since he is one of my favorite film composers and, in my opinion, one of the best today. His music is just so incredible. I was a little worried only because the original film versions with the amazing John Williams theme I love to no end. Luckily, much like the film itself, the score went a different way so it had its own take. It’s still hard not to hear the John Williams music but I can’t deny that Hans Zimmer created another incredible score. I just bought the soundtrack (the extended steelbook edition of course) and I’ve been listening to it over and over. Below is the one track that is basically the main theme which to me is just amazing. I can only […]

38 Years Of Jaws

Posted on

Today marks the 38th anniversary of the release of one of my favorite films, Steven Spielberg’s ‘Jaws’. My love of ‘Jaws’ is huge. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I have watched it in my life and it is just as incredible each time. It has entertained and thrilled me time and time again and has inspired me creatively on some level in almost everything I have ever done. The film that almost died a horrible death from setbacks, over budget, a non-working mechanical shark, was saved by a young Spielberg doing all he could to make sure his film continued. I can’t even look at a water filled horizon without, at least for a moment, imagine a fin breaking the stillness. A classic in every meaning of the word.

Sending all my best to fathers everywhere, past, present, and future, especially my own. Have a great day everyone! And of course I can’t help but think of the great story from ‘Creepshow‘. Be sure to get your dad a cake or else … he’ll get his own.

Rain Time Tea Time

I’m trying to do more fun experimental videos and exercises and today was a good example. It was raining pretty hard which was bumming me out. Instead of moping about it (anymore than I already was) I decided to grab my camera and shoot some of the rain in slow motion. Nothing fancy. I didn’t want to use my tripod or lights. Keep it as basic as possible. Just some cool slow motion shots at 240 fps (which caused the flicker on the indoor shots). I was making some tea at the time and as I went to the back door the tea pot was boiling so instantly I thought of a mini video. So within half an hour I shot everything in the video (plus a couple shots not used). Then edited it together and here it is. I admit it’s nothing amazing. It was just a short test […]
