Over the next couple of months the website will be going through an overhaul. At times it may be offline briefly during the transition. I have been horribly busy and am finishing up three projects so when they are completed I will be editing a new reel together. It is long overdo. So much to add to it. As some of you know I will be adding more photography options for hire. I was staying more in the film and video arena but I have had such amazing experiences I have decided to pursue those options as well. There will be a whole gallery of photos added when the new website design is up. Thank you all for the support. There is a lot going on and I am excited for the new opportunities coming.
With everything going on I forgot to post here (I posted it everywhere else) the latest cut of my reel. I wanted people to not only see the work I can do but also know who they are hiring. Here is my new reel. A Vimeo version will also be coming soon.
A quick update on a few things. As evident above (and the header) I created a new logo for myself. I have wanted to create one for a long time and have tried several over the years (which luckily I never used) but they were always too much. I wanted something simple but still eye catchy. Inspired by the simple name initial logo that Philip Bloom uses I came up with this one one night in my head. Sat with it for a bit then decided it was time. With the new reel in the works I figured I should go ahead and create it. I went into Adobe Illustrator and created the logo itself from scratch. It’ll probably go through different versions (with and without lens flares) but the core lettering logo is here to stay. Speaking of the reel, I am working hard on it. I wanted it […]
A bit of retooling is going on for me. When I got my new camera I saw the opportunities I didn’t have before. I also felt that part of my process lent itself to an older way of doing things. I’m going to start presenting myself as someone who can do a lot with very little. I don’t mean that in a negative sense but in that I can show up without a large truck of equipment but a small cart of bags of gear to give people a video that will look like I did. Any future gear purchases will also lend itself towards this. My new motto is: “I bring a lot to the table without bringing a lot into the room.” I’ll post about the specific gear changes as they happen. Though with money really tight after the camera purchase it might be slow. heh On the […]
One of our videos was recently posted on YouTube that we have done for Centegra Health Systems (one of our clients). One of our last projects from the end of last year which showcases their new emergency area in their McHenry hospital. We shot this in a day (including getting pick up shots for another video in a completely different department!) and once again Kirk did a great job editing it.
I got to use the new backdrop for a shoot and have to say it worked great! The only thing is I’ll have to double check how to clean it since I know after multiple uses it’s going to need a once over but it worked out great. A little pricey but it was worth it.
For work shoots we are doing different videos which instead of doing a normal interview set up require a backdrop. I recently bought a normal cloth backdrop but we’ve had issues. So I just bought one of these Westcott Collapsible backdrops. I’ll let you know how it works out. First official use with it will be on Monday.
