This is where to come for all updates and news in the world of Widescreen Films Productions and the life of Richard Diaz.

• A few updates. In June announcements will be going out for headshots as the casting process for Distortion will be starting. Keep an eye out here for more information. Also we have updated our software and are up to the minute on everything. Everything is being done now with Final Cut Studio 2 which includes Final Cut Pro 6 and the new Apple program Color for professional color correction. It's going to be a busy summer.
• Several effects test have been done and will be posted soon. Some directly for Distortion and some just for fun. Due to financial reasons things are being pushed back but we are still on track to go into production this summer. Every other aspect of development, aside from casting, is being done. Casting will take place soon. Plus some big news is coming. Stay tuned.
• Richard will be attending the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors convention February 23 - 25. Say hi if you see him wondering around aimlessly. Also, the casting call for Distortion is being delayed until March. Expect an official announcement then.

• Richard here. I was at Flashback Weekend here in Chicago this past weekend and had a great time. I met some really amazing people. The only down part was when someone asked me what I did I was hesitant to respond. Have to make sure that doesn't happen next time. I have added another goal for next year - I should have enough of Distortion shot to put together a teaser trailer. So when someone asks me what I do I can say, without hesitation, "I'm a filmmaker and here's the trailer for my new film." It was great meeting a lot of you there from various message boards. Not to mention all of the great guests who were extremely kind and wonderful. On another note, there will be some more Distortion updates coming. So check back soon.
• Distortion will be going into Pre-Production towards the end of 2006 which will include casting. All casting notices will be posted here when the time comes. Production will begin in spring of 2007.
• The website for Richard Diaz is up. There are clips from various editing work plus a new montage for his reel. Click Here to check it out.
• HD is here!! That's right. We have now become a high definition company. In our possession is the Panasonic AG-HVX200 HD camera. It is amazing. The new reel will be up in the next few days. The DVD is almost finished and the files will be uploaded for the website this week.
• We have upgraded to the latest version of After Effects. We now work with After Effects 7.0 Professional. Plus we've added Poser 6 which will mean some minor 3D animation. Some special news is coming soon. And yes, the reel will be up very soon plus some clips and even music samples. Stay tuned.
• I hope everyone had a very nice Christmas. The new year is upon us and a lot will be happening. Not only is Distortion going into production next year but other things will be happening too. And the HD move is in progress. Panasonic has offically released the new HVX200 HD camera and we have one on order. But with so many orders it may be February by the time ours arrives. But once it does you can rest assured that there will be test footage posted. Happy New Year everyone and we'll see you all in 2006 - the year many wonderful things will happen.
• Just wanted to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving. A lot of announcements are coming soon. Big things are happening.
• It's finally here. The new Drop Off trailer is up. Just go to the Drop Off section to do watch it.

• Very soon we will be upgrading all of our videos to Quicktime 7. If you haven't upgraded yet then we highly recommend it as the new codec is amazing. Windows users go here to download Quicktime 7. Apple users can go here to download Quicktime 7. NOTE: If you're using Quicktime 6 Pro then you will lose the Pro status so only upgrade when you're ready to upgrade to Quicktime 7 Pro.
• We have upgraded our systems and now have one of the newer G5 Mac's. This means greater productivity and speed. All of these upgrades will definitely prepare us for when we switch over to HD later this year.
• It has been done. So as to be as current as possible we have upgraded our programs. We now work with the latest versions of post production software which include Final Cut Pro 5, Soundtrack Pro, and Photoshop CS 2. And of course we are gearing up for the release of the new Panasonic HD camera coming out later this year.
